Plant Technician

Technicians do various types of work, including running high – speed converting and packing equipment, controlling the process from a computer terminal, and performing preventive maintenance on equipment. Technicians are expected to get involved, take charge of situations, and confront business – related problems.

Advancement Opportunities

All technicians are hired at entry level and advance by demonstrating increasing levels of operating, maintenance, and leadership skills. There is the opportunity to expand into electrical, quality assurance, safety and hygiene, and other areas of expertise.

What are we looking for?

Academic Background

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent education

Specific Requirements

  • Leadership skills: able to make necessary decisions for normal operation/maintenance of equipment.
  • Technical: identifies and resolves a variety of equipment problems and has demonstrated ability to use job related computer applications.
  • Capability building: able to coach, develop, and train others.
  • Self starter: positive leader with strong can–do mentality who takes the initiative and follows through.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and organize daily activities to complete required work within agreed deadlines and commitments. Track record for continuously delivering results.
  • Collaboration: able to build and maintain strong working relationships with diverse groups of people.
  • Able to work flexible shifts as required by business need.
  • Able to identify or correct a variety of technical/equipment problems.
